The Vision & Consultation
We map out the concept. We discuss composition, placement, and the emotional weight behind the piece, ensuring the design fits the natural contours of your body.

Custom realism and Japanese tattooing crafted for a lifetime.
I am Joe Guaraglia, a tattoo artist dedicated to turning skin into canvas. I specialize in the striking depth of black and grey realism and the timeless, flowing narrative of traditional and modern Japanese large-scale work.
For me, tattooing is a collaboration. Whether capturing the raw emotion of a realistic portrait or the powerful flow of an Irezumi backpiece, we take the time to refine the vision until it perfectly aligns with your story.

Based on our conversation I develop a custom design. You receive a draft for review. Revisions are a natural part of the process.
In a quiet, focused studio environment, we bring the artwork to life. Large-scale work and intense realism require patience and presence—I focus entirely on the canvas until the details are perfect.
After your session I don't leave you on your own. You receive clear aftercare instructions and I'm personally reachable if you have any questions.
Custom tattoos are available by request only. Share your idea with me, and I'll get back to you personally.

A few things worth knowing before you reach out.
You can initiate a project by sharing your concept via the contact section below or through Instagram. Tell me about your placement, desired style (Realism or Japanese), and the vision you have. I review each concept personally to ensure we are a perfect fit creatively.
Yes. To reserve dates in the calendar and dedicate studio time to creating your custom design, an artistic deposit is required. This commitment goes directly toward securing the drawing phase and your scheduled tattoo sessions.
Absolutely. Large-scale Japanese work and intricate realism require absolute precision. We will review the concept and flow together before the needle touches your skin, ensuring the design fits perfectly with your anatomy and vision.
To maintain the focus required for intricate realism and large-scale tattooing, I work strictly by appointment. If an unexpected opening arises in the studio, I will announce it immediately on Instagram.
You are welcome to bring one guest. I intentionally cultivate a quiet, focused, and calm atmosphere in the studio—this space is designed for patience, comfort, and deep focus during intense sessions.
Arrive well-rested, fully hydrated, and having eaten a solid meal. Wear loose, comfortable clothing that allows easy, unrestricted access to the area we are tattooing. A prepared mind and body make a profound difference during a long session.
